In The Rich History Of Our Great Country
We
received a call about a year ago from a homeowner who was
looking to have some repair work done on their home and he
asked me if I would stop by and take a look at it and work up a
price on what it'll take
to do it. We had no idea that such a rich and beautiful national
treasure was the house in question. The moment we saw it we fell
completely in love with it and the restoration work became a
'labor of love'. Each day was filled with excitement and anticipation
and we relished every moment it took for us to do what we were
contracted to do. In all honesty much of the work that you see in the
photographs was done by other fine craftsmen who did such a wonderful
job; however, we truly enjoyed the opportunity to do our part in the
maintenance and restorative work that we were hired to do.
American
History is rich with many old monuments that attest to the men and
women that instituted such rich and fascinating architectural
designs that have left an indelible imprint on the fabric of this
country. This particular home (main body) was built back in
1810...that's almost two hundred years ago! That is an unquestionable
testament to the craftsmen of old (as well as the material they
used)... who did such a splendid job---and to
think automation (power tools and equipment) didn't even exist back
then. This house is still
structually sound and it probably could last another two hundred years
as well, at least that's the impression I was left with.
We
were fortunate to have been called upon to do quite a bit of interior
work: plaster repair, drywall repair, painting, texturing, and
flooring. We graciously look forward to working on more projects of
this nature and we humbly thank the homeowners of this historical gem
for giving us the opportunity to help in the restoration process. We
have more pictures to share with you of the interior work we did, and
hopefully we will have those pictures uploaded very soon.
Please
feel free to contact American Painting and Pressure Cleaning, Inc. for
all your historical home repairs and restoration work. Thank you. D.
Thomas.
